The critically acclaimed HBO drama recently put the actress in a controversial sex scene that the Internet won't let go. I never know who's watching; it's not like a movie where the box office numbers come out right away... And we have to talk about the infamous scene where your character Meg has very violent sex with a younger man. They gave us the first three scripts, and I wasn't in them. And I was like, 'Oh god.' Obviously, having just had a baby, anything you have to do where you have to be very open with your body is sort of intimidating. I don't understand.' And he said, 'Is it okay for you to just know where you are right now, and to not know where you're going? I kind of go away for awhile, and then I come back... So for me as an actress, it's an amazing opportunity and challenge.
Since we can't, either, we went straight to the source: Tyler herself. Damon [Lindelof, the creator] said we were moving to this new town, and I wasn't going to be in a lot of the season, but when I was there, it was going to be important. But it's funny because on the page, I was freaked out by it and I didn't understand it completely. ' And I was like, 'Ugh.' That is the last thing I wanted to hear. But that's kind of the fun of the whole experience. and when I saw that [storyline], I was like, 'Whoa.' Just when I think I know what's gonna happen next, he surprises me with this gift of this incredible story.
"I changed my name because no one in the States could pronounce 'Joaquin' and I used to get really embarrassed about it as a kid.
All kids in my family had gorgeous names & I got 'Joaquin'. Even I can't say it." Thus, for the next eleven years he was credited as Leaf.
People passed by and none of them knew then what they would become someday: the next big thing in Hollywood.

Joaquin Phoenix's life is as unique as the characters he plays onscreen. His parents were members of the religious group the Children of God, leading to a unique upbringing for Joaquin and the other Phoenix children.
The actor has been working on and off since the early '80s, though it wasn't until his star turn opposite Russell Crowe in "Gladiator" (2000) that Phoenix became a household name. Due to the group's extensive traveling, Joaquin was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The actor's parents became disenchanted with the Children of God and, in 1978, returned to the U. During this time, they changed their family name to "Phoenix" to represent a new beginning. Joaquin is the younger brother of late actor River Phoenix.
In 1970, they had their first child River Jude Bottom in Madras, Oregon before having the second son, Joaquin Raphael Bottom in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The other three children, Rain, Liberty and Summer were also each born in different cities.
