Having the overnight in the city gave people the chance to visit some of the nightclubs, like the Tropicana and the Buena Vista Social Club, for some fantastic Cuban food, drink, and music.I just wandered in the Plaza Vieja, which was walking distance from the ship, and walked along, hearing the music pouring out many of the restaurants and bars. I would say that all 246 people in our group are very happy!I dont know what the future holds for tours to Cuba, but keep watching our e-mails.We had beautiful weather here for the three-day weekend. I saw a great Memorial Day banner on the way to the office this morning. Memorial Day gives us a chance to reflect on our country and how lucky we are to live in the United States and Canada and to remember those that made it all possible.I have to say, the ship looks greatlike a brand-new ship. We had all day yesterday, overnight, and all day today in Havana.Ive already run into two crew members that I knew from this and other NCL ships all those years ago. She has an extra friendly crew and the food and service are excellent. I spent the day visiting some of the hotels that we use for our land tours, to check them out for myself.Today its starting off to be a beautiful day in Seattle.
We still have Travel With Alan travelers going all over the world. On Sunday, I helped Paula and Dan load the buses in Seattle to go to Vancouver to board Holland America Lines ms Zaandam for yet another Alaska cruise/tour.Paula and Dan are with their group of 188 Travel With Alan travelers, sailing up the Inside Passage. On Monday we transferred to the Port of Miami, where we boarded the beautiful Norwegian Sky.I used to go on this ship all the time, but its been 12 years since Ive been aboard.
